How it Works:

Select a model and then review the options below that are best for you and your playing style. You can either submit the form below, or contact me and we can go over the build and options together by phone or email. An $800 deposit is required to start the build. The remainder is due upon completion. If you don’t see the options you are looking for below just send me a message. Each mandolin is built to order and customizable.

All Mandolins Include:

• Chambered solidbody construction.
• Ebony fretboard with 12″ radius and 20 frets.
• Hardtail bridge.
• Hardshell Case.

Wood of various thickness and wood veneers are used to make the multi-layer wood body. This body style is sometimes referred to as a “hippie sandwich”. The thickness and species of the core woods are selected and arranged to complement the top and back woods. See examples photos above.

My hand-wound single coil pickups sound great in a mandolin and are based on the original pickups used in the Fender Mandocaster. The Super Distortion S pickups are a hot pickup in humbucker mode, and are nice and clean when in split coil mode. Any of the Dimarzio blade style pickup models can be substituted for the Super Distortion S pickups. 2 pickup mandolins come with a 3-way toggle pickup selector switch and 3 pickup mandolins come with a 5 way lever switch. Ebony pickup ring(s).

I typically include a master volume control and one or two tone controls depending on player preference.

Booster and buffer options maintain the high end clarity (even through long cable runs). The booster gain can be adjusted from 3-14db. The buffer gain is not adjustable. For instruments without OBEL, a bypass switch is included to run the instrument in passive or in active mode.

California sales tax (for sales in CA) and shipping will be added if applicable. All instruments are shipped with insured shipping or are available for pick up in Three Rivers, CA. Due to the complexities with exporting items made using wood or bone, I only ship within the United States. International shipping is not available at this time.
