Sequoia Guitar

This is a unique solidbody guitar made from reclaimed old growth giant sequoia wood (sequoia giganteum). After putting a considerable amount of planning into the design of this guitar, it has exceeded my expectations in tone and feel. It is truly a pleasure to play and hear. It has a nice warm sound but can maintain the high end frequencies nicely. Upon playing the prototype for the first time, I realized that I needed to direct my time and effort into building more of these.

The sequoia tree is the largest tree in the world in both width and volume and can live to be over 3000 years old. The coastal redwoods are the tallest and can reach over 2000 years old. I only use sequoia or redwood that is reclaimed or salvaged responsibly. Both of these species make outstanding tonewood. It is a pleasure to repurpose this beautiful and historical wood and give it another life in my guitars.
